Assistant Director of Professional Education

Elana is the Assistant Director of Professional Education for the Environmental Law Institute. In this role, she develops and manages seminars, workshops, and courses on topical legal issues. Elana joined ELI as a Research Associate in 2014 and has worked with the Institute’s ocean and international programs. Her past research has included work on Gulf coast restoration, ethical issues related to the communication of scientific uncertainty, marine litter governance, and environmental rule of law. She has experience tracking state-level water and land use legislation, teaching city officials about energy efficiency and renewable energy issues, and developing communication programs for several nonprofits. Elana holds a B.A. in International Relations (Honors) from Hendrix College.
