ELI is offering a series of programs to present how companies have approached the task of operationalizing sustainability in their organizations. In February of this year, ELI published William Blackburn’s The Sustainability Handbook, developed as a management guide to achieving an organization’s social, economic, and environmental objectives. The author presents in detail how many companies have gone about operationalizing sustainability, from selling top management on the concept to developing effective internal processes to external reporting and outreach.

The first program in this new series presented speakers from three major corporations with extensive practical experience in (1) setting sustainability goals and measures, (2) deploying new management policies and practices company-wide, and (3) monitoring execution of policies and practices to strengthen accountability.
