Summary

In the spring of 1984, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) entered into an Interagency Agreement (IAG), initiated by EPA’s Office of Federal Activities, to promote nationwide cooperative work on matters dealing with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. Pursuant to the IAG, EPA has funded two major projects in cooperation with FWS regarding wetlands in the western United States.
