States Need Commitment, Leadership, and Backbone

Despite appearances, Lance Wood and New Jersey's Governor Kean are in more agreement with each other than not in their recent National Wetlands Newsletter articles. Both Mr. Wood and Governor Kean share a concern for the protection of wetlands. The debate that has surfaced is not over whether, but how, to accomplish most effectively the goal of wetlands protection. Therefore, it is imperative that this discord between allies must be resolved so that those in favor of wetlands protection may advance together toward a national wetlands protection program.
