Meet Our Clearinghouse Partners
The ELI Pro Bono Clearinghouse works closely with partner organizations that are dedicated to helping environmental justice communities find the experts they need. These partners set the standard for pro bono environmental work and help expand the Clearinghouse’s reach and impact, vetting and sharing matters that arise across the country and globe. The Clearinghouse is committed to regularly posting these matters and engaging with our partners to amplify their impact. Please find brief descriptions of our partners below.
Anthropocene Alliance
The Anthropocene Alliance (A2) is a nonprofit that empowers frontline communities by providing them with organizing support, scientific and technical guidance, and greater access to foundation and government funding. They support more than 100 member-communities in 35 U.S. states and territories. A2 places a special priority on people who have disproportionately suffered from the worst environmental impacts, like low-income, Black, Latinx, Native American, and other underserved communities.
Chesapeake Legal Alliance
The Chesapeake Legal Alliance (CLA) is the only regional organization solely dedicated to providing free legal services to protect the Chesapeake Bay watershed. They support individuals, community groups, and environmental advocates working to protect the Bay’s lands, waters, and communities. CLA also works with local, state, and federal regulators seeking unique solutions to Chesapeake Bay protection and restoration.
Environmental Protection Network
The Environmental Protection Network (EPN) is a nonprofit made up of 550+ EPA alumni focused on building the capacity of environmental agencies and the communities they serve to truly address the most urgent health and environmental crises. Notably, EPN also provides capacity-building technical assistance and training to environmental justice communities, NGOs, and under-resourced state, local, and tribal government agencies.
Thriving Earth Exchange
The Thriving Earth Exchange (TEX) is a program within the American Geophysical Union (AGU), an international scientific society, that connects communities with scientists and supports them as they work together to tackle local challenges related to natural hazards, natural resources, and climate change. They spearhead 6 to 18 month long projects that are community-led and focused on driving local impact.
