Environmental Justice Litigation Part 2: Federal and State Initiatives and Litigation Hurdles
An ELI Public Webinar
Join the Environmental Law Institute and Latham & Watkins LLP for a webinar series on environmental justice litigation. This series will take a deep look at the evolution of environmental justice within the legal system of the United States, as well as the creative ways attorneys have used environmental and civil rights laws to advocate on behalf of environmental justice communities. This session will also serve as the second part of ELI's Pro Bono Clearinghouse Community Lawyering CLE series.
In this second part of the series, our expert panelists will give an overview of federal and state environmental justice initiatives. They will also describe litigation wins and hurdles in the field over the years. Which states have higher environmental justice activity? What enforcement mechanisms can the federal government utilize for environmental justice initiatives? What key cases have provided litigation successes and challenges? Join ELI, Latham & Watkins LLP, and our expert panelists to discuss these questions and so much more.
