An Emerging Leaders Initiative Seminar

Join the Environmental Law Institute for a series of seminars exclusively for the ELI Emerging Leaders Initiative members. These seminars will consist of presentations during the last week of each month this fall about different career paths within environmental law. Experts in their field will discuss how they got to their positions, their daily work, and any advice they have for our Emerging Leaders who are interested in getting involved. There will be time at the end of each seminar for questions and networking with the experts.

The first part of this series will discuss careers involving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) work. ESG commitments have increased by companies, institutional investors, and other organizations in recent years. The regulation around ESG and climate-related disclosures may be changing with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s proposed rule this year, as well. With the increase in demand and the potential regulatory changes, the field of ESG work is growing for environmental lawyers.

What does it look like to advise clients on ESG matters? How is it different to work in the ESG field as an attorney, rather than as a businessperson? With the quickly evolving landscape, how can a new environmental lawyer break into the practice? Join our experts to discuss all of this and so much more.

Panelists:
Lindsay Brewer, Associate, Covington & Burling LLP
Adam H. Cutler, Counsel, Fox Rothschild LLP

ELI ELI programs are for the exclusive benefit of Emerging Leaders.
