The Author Responds to "Supporting Sensible Salting"

In my recent article I reported increases in chlorides in streams documented by Dr. Sujay Kausal and others in volume 102 of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, published in 2005. Mr. Hanneman’s statement that “the concentrations…are small fractions of those that represent an environmental threat” cannot be substantiated by the data available.
