How Compatible Are Biodiversity and Ecosystem-Service Restoration Goals?

Is there a positive correlation between increased wetland function and increased biodiversity in restored herbaceous wetlands? While some expect restoration to improve water quality, abate floods, and provide species-rich vegetation, the author argues that biodiversity is limited (and invasive species form monotypes) where wetlands are expected to treat runoff from today’s landscapes.
