"Information, Please."

Even from watching classic movies, few National Wetlands Newsletter readers may remember hearing the phrase “Information, please,” which was routinely used in the rotary phone era to request numbers from telephone operators. When I wrote the first edition of the Wetlands Deskbook in the early 1990s, I considered wetlands law file-drawer law, since most agency guidance documents, internal decisions, and field memos were not widely available.
