Summary

 

Since the turn of the century, over half of the earth’s wetlands have been lost, and further major losses will undoubtedly occur in developing nations. Encouraged by a private agreement between a United States environmental organization and the government of Bolivia, three members of Congress hyav introduced legislation which would allow international debt forgiveness in exchange for the protection of the world’s tropical forests and wetlands.
