Summary

The Great Delta Wetlands of the Usumacinta and Grijalva Rivers of the Yucatan Peninsula are Mexico’s most important wetland resources. They contain the country’s largest mangrove forest and its major waterbird habitat. They also support its largest shrimp fishery, large herds of cattle, and major fresh and salt water fisheries.
