Summary

On July 3, 1989, the transition area rules for New Jersey's Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act became effective, thereby initiating the regulation of certain activities occuring immediately adjacent to the state's freshwater wetlands, and advancing the Act's protection significantly beyong that of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act's (FWPCA) §404.
