Volume 9, Issue 5, Page 13
Summary

The approximately 2.5 million acres of prairie potholes in North Dakota receive varying degrees of protection from state and federal government. Protection at the state level improved somewhat during the 1987 biennial legislative session, when the North Dakota Legislature passed legislation requiring that certain wetlands be replaces on an acre-for-acre basis when drained.
