Summary

Saturated forested wetlands are at the heart of the current wetland delineation controversy. Classified as temporarily or seasonally flooded palustrine forested wetlands, they are generally located in headwater areas, along streams, and in broad, flat, poorly drained areas of the mid-Atlantic coastal plain.
