The Scientists Speak: Gaming the Louisiana Coast

Hurricanes Katrina and Rita prompted a frantic series of federal and state planning efforts, legislative proposals, and appropriations to restore coastal Louisiana. These efforts will be costly to U.S. taxpayers but leave the oil and gas industry off the hook. Worse yet, the environmental impacts may prove catastrophic.
