Summary

To successfully restore coastal Louisiana, we need to fully recognize the interdependent nature of the coastal system; integrate restoration, protection, and navigation; and remain open to potential changes and alternative solutions. Several models, examined below, can be used to properly represent the complexity of this ecological system and the various outcomes that might arise from altering or changing it.
