Wetlands Mitigation: Harmon Meadow Case Sends Mixed Signals

Volume 9, Issue 5, Page 15
Summary

On a gray day in late spring, standing near the juncture of Mill Creek and the Hackensack River, one can see an improbably oasis among the long-abused lowlands of New Jersey’s Hackensack Meadows. Accompanied by the distant roar of trucks on the New Jersey Turnpike, a flock of mallards flies into view, circles, and glides to a landing on the surface of a nearby channel. Only two years ago this scene would have been unlikely, if not impossible.
